New works
A recent move to the north coast of NSW has inspired a series of works influenced by the natural beauty of the region.
The coast is geographically unique, being the only place in NSW where the Great Dividing Range meets the Pacific Ocean, with an abundance of waterfalls, rivers, lagoons, beaches and marine reserves.
Water, light, transparency and opacity have been ongoing themes in Juliannes work. Her new works draw upon these themes once again, referencing the beauty of these waterways.
Juliannes most recent work explores the colour blue, “ living here, I am immersed in blue — it seeps into everything: the air, the light. It’s not just a colour but a constant presence, both material and metaphor — a vessel for emotion, memory, and the unspeakable. I’m drawn to its contradictions: tranquil yet charged, intimate yet infinite, a colour that holds space while hinting at the void.”
